About Josef Breuer and Sigmund Freud
Josef Breuer (1842-1925) was a Viennese physician whose treatment of Bertha Pappenheim, later called Anna O., became central to psychoanalytic origin stories. Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) was the founder of psychoanalysis. Their collaboration joined clinical neurology, hypnosis, trauma, memory, and early talk therapy before Freud developed psychoanalysis as a distinct movement.
