About C. G. Jung
C. G. Jung (1875-1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist at the Burgholzli clinic before founding analytical psychology. His early work used word-association experiments and complex theory to interpret psychotic symptoms. The Psychology of Dementia Praecox belongs to his pre-break period with Freud and to the psychiatric world of Bleuler and Kraepelin.

The Psychology of Dementia PraecoxC. G. Jung
1907 (Peterson/Brill trans. 1909) · Early 20th Century · History
Jung's Psychology of Dementia Praecox attempts to make psychotic speech and behavior psychologically intelligible. Working from the Burgholzli clinic, word-association studies, Bleuler's dementia praecox, and Freud's ideas about complexes, Jung argues that seemingly senseless symptoms may express emotionally charged complexes.
