Quotation from Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals by Immanuel Kant
“The precepts for the physician to make his patient thoroughly healthy, and for a poisoner to ensure certain death, are of equal value in this respect, that each serves to effect its purpose perfectly”
Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, Second Section, trans. Thomas Kingsmill Abbott (1889)
Kant illustrates imperatives of skill, which are indifferent to whether the end is good.
