Quotation from Philosophy of Right by G. W. F. Hegel
“What is rational is real ; And what is real is rational.”
Philosophy of Right, Author's Preface, trans. S. W. Dyde (1896)
Set apart as a two-line maxim in the Preface, the most debated sentence of the book: philosophy finds reason in the actual world rather than in a merely imagined one.
