Islamic scripture, believed by Muslims to be revealed to Muhammad

About Anonymous (Islamic scripture)

Muslims believe the Quran to be the word of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (c. 570–632 CE) through the angel Gabriel over about twenty-three years in Mecca and Medina. The revelations were memorized and written down by companions during his lifetime and compiled into a standard text, according to tradition, under the third caliph, Uthman, around 650 CE.
