Quotation from Cuchulain of Muirthemne by Lady Gregory
“When I began to gather these stories together, it is of you I was thinking, that you would like to have them and to be reading them.”
Cuchulain of Muirthemne, Dedication of the Irish Edition, to the people of Kiltartan (1907 John Murray edition (Internet Archive scan))
Gregory explains that she wrote the book for her Galway neighbours, who remembered tales of Finn but little of Cuchulain.
