Quotation from Journey to the West (A Mission to Heaven) by Wu Cheng'en

“The above is a summary of the Author's version of the seven days of creation.”

Wu Cheng'en (spoken by Timothy Richard (translator's note))

Journey to the West (A Mission to Heaven), Chapter I, trans. Timothy Richard (1913)

Richard's bracketed note after the opening account of cosmic ages and Pan Ku; it shows him reading the Chinese cosmology through the Genesis creation week, an interpretation that is his, not the novel's.
