Quotation from On His Blindness (Sonnet XIX) by John Milton
“They also serve who only stand and wait.”
On His Blindness (Sonnet XIX), Line 14 (Poems (1673), ed. Thurber (1901))
The closing line, set against the thousands who speed at the king's bidding; it has become proverbial.
