Quotation from A Theologico-Political Treatise by Baruch Spinoza
“whosoever loves justice and charity we know, by that very fact, to be faithful: whosoever persecutes the faithful, is an enemy to Christ.”
A Theologico-Political Treatise, Chapter XIV, trans. R. H. M. Elwes
Spinoza argues that faith is shown by works of justice and charity rather than by agreement in doctrine.
