Quotation from The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss
“You silly little thing," said Fritz, my eldest son, sharply, "don't you know that we must not settle what God is to do for us? We must have patience and wait his time”
The Swiss Family Robinson, Chapter I, trans. W. H. G. Kingston (1879)
Fritz's answer to little Franz is right in substance and harsh in tone, and the father at once corrects the tone, setting the pattern of the book's moral teaching.
