Sulpitius Severus (c. 363-c. 425) was an Aquitanian Christian writer and aristocrat who became closely associated with Martin of Tours and with ascetic circles in Gaul. His Life, Dialogues, and Letters created one of the West's most influential models of the monk-bishop: soldier, renouncer, miracle worker, exorcist, healer, and patron of Gallic Christianity.
